So its late breaking tonight but obscenely important news all the same. My first reactions - unbelieving: how could they have lost so much money (or not had enough in preparation of the first year) that they could file within six months of opening? So sad... Second reaction - where do we go for a prorated refund of our annual passes? Quickest way to lose any locals that supported the park by buying annual passes in their first season will definately not come back if they are stiffed for these passes. Jeez... what else can be said... oh wait - I'm sure there are a ton of people out there with more ideas of what to be said now.

Well If there were any plans to build a water ride, it's probaly been put on hold as well,If Washington can come up with a way to get this economy and consumer confidence back up and the banks back on track there may be hope.
As we all know,we'll have to hear the lecters of I told you so's, theres already 89 comments in the sun news,I did'nt even bother replying.
I am copying this from the main site because Justin Taylor made an excellent comment that I believe most people overlook in their initial reaction to this news:
You know, hearing I told you so is one thing, but as a loyal park employee, it’s even worse to hear the scores of people preaching on how they can’t wait to see the gates close for good. Apparently they forget that there are more people that work there than Jon Binkowski and Steven Goodwin. Not all of us are “wealthy money-grubbers” and not all of us will be “hiding” behind this Chapter 11 incident. 98% of us are normal, hard working people who just found out today that we no longer have a job. That’s bad enough, but it’s even more difficult to handle with people essentially yelling that they HOPE you lose everything you have. On that note, thanks to everyone who has stood up for us (both the park as a whole and the workers in particular) here in the community. In particular, thanks to Bones up above for being the only person I’ve heard express concern for the actual people involved. You’re good people, and may every convievable higher power bless you all.
Thanks for a great season guys. See you bright and early next spring!
In our own surprise and disappointment (and whatever other feelings you may harbor) forget the people that are truly affected by this situation.
Blame it on the rain yeeeaaa yeeaaaaa...you can blame it on the rain, cause the rain dont mind, the rain dont care. You got to blame it on something...
The remaining workers at the park are upset that their names and home addresses have appeared on a series of documents posted online at the Sun News. Along with their names appears every who worked there. Even my own appears on the Creditor Matrix - http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/tourism/story/607115.html
Well, a lot of ex-workers are mad, but these guys, the various remaining technicians and security guards were extremely mad today all because the very workers that they harrassed, bullied around, and got fired now have the ability of having themselves found out where they live by the same people they knocked upon. (Note to readers, the 75 are loyalists to the park bosses, sort of like how some of the red neck supremists here are loyal to their Grand Knight.) Some of those bullied were done so because of the color of their skin. I watched it and did say something about it.
Maybe that's why I'm a former employee.
So that's why these techies and security people still have their jobs. But they're mad at the Sun News and not to their very own bosses who "sold us all out" by graciously giving the documents to their attorneys who then gave the very same papers to the newspaper.
As for the legality of the posting of the HRP documents, it's like Totally Legal.
i havent seen it...just say it. If you can say all these other things about how the park seems to be the anti-christ you can clearly say why you were fired.
If I said so right here then the park bosses would know as to whom I is.
I worked there, this website had a deal worked out with the park for the KC Sunshine band show. So whadda ya think I'm thinking?
I think you just wanna rat me out.
